This thread is for official news related to MNI forums. ^^
This is the thread for posting the small stuff, the big stuff, the medium-sized stuff that has happened, is happening, or will happen to you. Since I have noticed that people have been starting one-post threads in the 'Beware of Random Things' board that state something simple like 'just to let you know...', I have deleted those threads and I'm starting this thread so everyone can post those types of things here.
In the news Feb. 6-8 I went to NYI Teen Talent and overall we did pretty well, but not as good as we usually do because of technical issues with the rules. I won second place in pen/ink art and second place in video production. (I'll post the links to those things later.)
Today, Feb 9, I connected myself to the internet! Yay! And that's pretty much it...check on Deviant Art for other updates concerning my media. My fanfiction still isn't going very well, but it'll be okay because I'm devoting most of my time to my manga. You can expect a Valentine's Day pic up any time this week...it'll be a picture of Naruto and Sasuke. *insert mysterious evil laugh here* kukuku...

Both pictures are very good, Azuri. I'm amazed that you drew them! You have really improved over the last few months! And you did a good job on the coloring too! It's amazing! Here are links: The talent picture that won second place in the pen/ink category~ fireaangel.deviantart.com/art/NYI-Talent-pic-in-pen-112595680The talent picture (that didn't place) in the pencil category~ fireaangel.deviantart.com/art/NYI-Talent-pic-in-pencil-112640298NEWS for Feb 13-15 weekend: I completed my Valentine's Day picture, which is a little comic of Naruto and Sasuke. It's so kawaii! (At least I think so anyway lol) Here is the link to that: fireaangel.deviantart.com/art/Valentine-s-Day-2009-112838752Also, I wrote a whole lot in this one fanfiction that I had barely touched for the longest time so I am very proud of myself on that note. And I'm probably going to write a lot more this week and continuing. Each chapter is going to be rather long, simply because I like them that way xD

In the News Feb 22-26: I learned how to make graphics! ^o^ I am also currently learning how to make layouts so I can better improve my websites and start making layouts of my own. Visit the gallery to see my graphics. While you're there, why don't you check out the graphics other members made?
In the news Feb 27-March 1: I will be gone Friday afternoon through Sunday morning due to an event I am attending with my mom in Nashville. This same weekend, I was supposed to go to NYI Sports Fest, but due to this previous engagement, I could not go. I will not be taking a laptop with me so the only communication will be my cell phone, for those who know my number. I hope you all have a great weekend and I will be back to see you and give a report on my little adventure on Monday. ;D

In the news March 1: Slight change of plans...we got back a little earlier than I expected, so here's my report! Friday afternoon, we got there at right before 4:00, so we had to hurry up and get to our room to get ready for the picture session. After that was dinner and the program...it was really great. They had a giant ice sculpture with the company logo inside it and there were amazingly tall ceilings with HUGE chandeliers(sp?), plus SO much more. I had salmon and mashed potatoes with broccoli and whole mushrooms. It was so good, but I couldn't finish all of it because dessert was amazing--we all thought it was ice cream, but it was actually balls of cheesecake! It even had whipped cream and a cherry on top, kinda like a banana split (there was vanilla cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake, and strawberry cheesecake) with strawberry sauce at the bottom and a single banana slice on the side. The program probably took nearly two hours, but it was okay nonetheless. The guy who did the introduction also did some jokes that were funny and made sense but they were weird. O.o Anyway, it was exciting to see my mom go onstage to collect her award! The show was performed by a group called Maestro Productions, I believe, who did excellent vocal imitations of some singers, and even dressed the part. It was okay, but not fantastic. We went back to our room, but on the way we stopped at the Godiva chocolate store located inside the hotel. x3 I was glad to get to the room because I was tired and my feet hurt since I was wearing heels!!! D:
Saturday morning we ordered breakfast from the room service. I had malted pancakes with whipped cream and warm REAL maple syrup, with orange juice. It was SOOOOOO good. We had to get ready fast, so we could leave on time to ride the shuttle on the 'Many Faces Tour', in which we learned a lot about Nashville while stopping at certain historical landmarks. Lunch at this Country Music Appreciation (or something) place wasn't really that great, and that's probably why I can't remember the name of the place! D: It was a buffet, and I got corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, a biscuit, a slice of chocolate cake, and a slice of orange juice cake. Until then, I had no idea orange juice cake even existed. O.o Back at the hotel we toured around a bit until it was time for the General Jackson tour aboard the General Jackson boat. We ate gelato, which is like ice cream only SO MUCH BETTER. But anyways, then we went to the boat. OMG I was so amazed that it MOVED. At least we know now that I don't get seasick, just a little freaked. Dinner there was served professionally, with the entree first, then a salad thing (with spinach leaves instead of lettuce. People, spinach leaves taste EXACTLY like leaves. Trust me. You CAN eat them x3), then the main dish, and then dessert. I think the main dish was steak, some sort of thin-cut potatoes, broccoli, mushrooms, a roll, and some peppers. All I ate of the entree was a piece of bread and some crackers x3 And OMG the dessert was AMAZING. It was chocolate cake, but not just any chocolate cake.....it had dark chocolate ganache and this mousse like chocolate and raspberry syrup was drizzled on the plate (the cake was on top of the syrup) and there was whipped cream and a strawberry on top of the cake too. Yay! The show was called Sing and it was so much better than the one we saw Friday night. This one was just four people, three guys and one woman, and they did great mimicking of different singers, including Elvis (two guys did this one, and they were called Elvi -pronounced Elv-eye xD) and Tim Mcgraw. This one was interesting because I actually got to sit right up next to the stage! xDDD We went straight back to the hotel after that and went to sleep! xD This morning we ate breakfast at Volare's. OMG there was so much food and it was so good I can't even tell you all of it. But anyway, then we left, so sad face. But it was so amazing and wonderful and fantastic and the best part is we paid for NONE of it! It was a reward for my mom being voted employee of the year at the hospital she works at ^^ (she's kinda like the receptionist/answer-the-phone/show-you-where-you-need-to-go lady) xD
So anyway, that's pretty much the summary of what happened over the weekend! ^o~ Btw, the hotel we stayed at was the Gaylord Opryland Hotel! xDDD I really enjoyed it. ^w^ Oh, AND the tour buses we went on were SO COOL. They were kneeling buses, which means that when they stop, the front end actually goes down. And when it's parked and off, and then the driver starts the engine again, it rises up, so it was kneeling the whole time! xDD I like those buses. They are very polite. :3

Spring began Friday the 20th! Happy Spring, everyone!
MNI Forums might be having a contest for the month of April. It would be over April Fool's Day and Easter. Contest entries would be humor or an Easter entry of your choice. Prizes are still undecided. Contest is pending, so if you would like to enter, please let me know so I can begin the contest; otherwise, there probably won't be one. ^^;;
